Decisions Oriented Inc.
Business Name: Decisions Oriented Inc.
What was the most important thing you learned during Project Opportunity?:
The most important lesson I learned was that there was NO WAY I will be able to run a business by myself. I needed a partner that will do the critical functions I am good at or unwilling to do. I also learned that my next step is to eliminate my personal debt so I can still provide for my family as I get through the ups and downs during the first few years of growth.
What successes have you had since completing Project Opportunity?:
I graduated Project OpportunitySM the spring of 2014 and launched my business in 2016. In 2017, I landed my first sub-contract, worth about $800K and successfully obtain a Facility Clearance. In 2018, I hired three veterans ( 2 Air Force and 1 Army). In 2019, we won a $26K contract with the FAA and a $133K contract with the Navy. We also won several awards in 2019, Finalist as NaVOBA’s Woman Veteran Enterprise of the Year, 2019 Top 100 Minority Business by Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council, and 2019 Global Good Fund Fellowship recipient.
